LOCATION: George Newton Nature Reserve

This nature trail winds through an old pine plantation and the remnants of farm orchards. A side trail takes you through a white cedar forest and along a stream valley where it stops at an old dam, where a sawmill once stood. Parking is limited. Bayfield residents meet at 8:45 at the Pavilion at Clan Gregor Square for carpooling. The trail is 2 km long, difficulty is level 3 and the hike should take approx. one hour. Turn east on Kitchigami Road. The reserve is located just past Porter’s Hill Line on south side of road at #35913.
